CERAMIC TOWER PACKING

Stoneware and porcelain ceramic Tower Packing is available as Saddles, Berl Saddles, Raschig Rings, Cross Partition Rings and Lessing Rings.
Tower Packing is used for distillation, absorption, extraction and other trayed column applications; larger sizes are stacked while smaller sizes are randomly dumped. Tower Packing is used to increase the mass transfer capacity or efficiency of an existing trayed tower; revamped columns can achieve significant capacity increases at the same efficiency.
In addition, Raschig Rings are used in fixed bed catalytic units as an alternative to balls and pellets.

Stoneware and porcelain ceramic Tower Packing is used routinely in the following services:
Acid
gas
removal systems
Pickling
Bromine plants
Sulfuric
acid plants Filtration
Thermal
regenerators
Glycol dryers
Water treatment
Due to its friable nature, this ceramic tower packing is currently used in specialized applications where its mass or low cost is valuable. Alternative tower packing is made of various grades of steel and plastic in the same and more intricate shapes.
